Domaine Billard Pere et Fils
Jrme and Elisabeth Billard are the 4th generation of his family to have managed Domaine Billard Pere & Fils. Their winery is located in La Rochepot, a village just west of Saint-Aubin. Jrme has built up the estate's vineyard holdings to an impressive 18.5 hectares, with the largest area in Hautes Cotes de Beaune, as well as Beaune, St Romain, St Aubin, Auxey Duresses and Pommard. Jrmes philosophy is "expressing the typicity of the terroir.". Yields are low and grapes are concentrated because of organic farming techniques, extensive pruning and cover crops between vines. His trusty Percheron steed, Raphael, ploughs the vineyards at the estate and for Domaine de la Romanee Conti. Grapes are hand harvested and sorted on a vibrating table to ensure only the best are selected. Winemaking is low intervention. Pinot Noir is foot trodden to gently extract tannins, only natural yeasts are used and wines are left on lees in oak barrels before bottling at the estate. As a consequence of these meticulous efforts, Billard offers high quality wines with layers of complexity and concentration at surprisingly low prices. The Billard Hautes Cotes de Beaune Rouge comes from a plot of 4 hectares with alluvial clay soil. Respecting the delicate nature of Pinot Noir, the extraction is obtained by foot pressing. The wine is then matured in barrel for 10 months. The rigorous bunch selection done in the vineyard before harvest insuring ripe and healthy grapes results in Pinot Noir fruit with a purity to its expression.

Domaine Bruno Sorg
An elegant and restrained Pinot Noir from Alsace, typically youthful and filled with summer berries, cherries and slightly warmer notes. This carries over to the palate with refreshing acidity balanced by the quality of fruit and the ever so soft tannins. 12.5% ABV

Don Sebastiani & Sons
The Crusher Pinot Noir is powerfully aromatic, with notes of pomegranate, rose petal and nutmeg. Juicy and spicy on the palate, this wine exudes flavours of plum, glazed strawberry and cinnamon bread from 12 months of French oak aging.

Vina Marty
The sake yeast no7 is also at the basis of this creation. In contrast to the Sauvignon blanc, the sake culture is less easy to discover here,. This is because the tannic structure of red wine predominates over the aromatic characteristics of this yeast culture. Some bottle aging will change this. But will this wine have a chance? The quality is already excellent. Lots of cherry and small red fruit in the smell and taste, with a refined and elegant aftertaste. No burgundy style, but classic and at a lonely height!

La Croix Gratiot
The medium-ruby colored IGP Pays D'Oc Les Zazous (100% Pinot Noir) offers a pretty, elegant style as well as attractive notes of dried cherries, dusty soil and spice. It's charming, has no hard edges and a clean finish, all of which make it ideal for drinking over the coming couple of years.

Bouchard Pere & File
This has a ripe bouquet with raspberry and redcurrant notes. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. It is a little austere at first, but seems to relax in the glass and turn in an agreeable structured finish with a gentle grip. This is the kind of Pinot Noir that will be enhanced at the dinner table.

In Etiennes hands Roncire is always an elegant and red-fruited expression of Nuits, even in a warm vintage such as 2018. Red fruit abounds on the caressing palate, while the finish is spicy and refreshing, with a cooling sage-mint feel. Drink 2024-2030.

Au Bon Climat
JancisRobinson.com: 'Aged in 50% new Francois Frères French oak barrels. The wine was racked in the spring and then aged another 20 months (24 months total). ‘Estate bottled’ is emblazoned on the front label. Fairly subtle aroma of violets and a very dry finish. Serious wine that is still in its infancy.'

Felton Road
This is the most grown up Cornish Point yet. It has all the classic components (vibrantly fruited, voluptuous and rounded mouthfeel...), but with a structural complexity we have rarely seen before. Indulgent but serious tannins demand a thoughtful conversation in this 15th rendition. Baritones and altos all in harmony leading to a crescendo of a finish.

Intense nose of real concentration. Vibrant and jewelly like essence of Central Otago but with a drier finish than many. Still very youthful and savoury. Great stuff! 2020 Vintage Jancis Robinson MW

Au Bon Climat
Strawberries and blackberries aromas slowly rise out of the glass. Overtime, more of the anise and clove will mix with these other aromas. Currently, the wine is young with mouth filling intensity and suppleness. Complexity will increase as the wine ages, but this wine should stay “fresh” for 6 or 7 years. In its youth, match this wine with lamb or dried meats. After a few years, as the flavors coalesce, it will pair better with salmon or mild red sauce with pasta.

Moorooduc Estate
Kate McIntyre is the queen of Mornington, consistently turning out the most critically acclaimed wines from this famous area near Melbourne. "A real treat of a wine, with rhubarb, beetroot, strawberry and spice flavours. A showboater, and while the stemmy character is a strong influence, I think it works brilliantly." 17.5 jancisrobinson.com (2014 Vintage)

Folding Hill
The Kerruick family bought this small 5 hectare farm near Bendigo at the beginning of the century, originally planting only Pinot Noir. The Estate Pinot Noir has consisitently won plaudits from wine critics since the 2008 vintage, only their second release. The Ballasalla is made for earlier drinking. 100% destemmed Pinot Noir, aged in oak barriques for 6 months. Deep coloured, the wine exhibits dark ripe fruit characters as well as truffle, spice and subtle toasted oak on the palate. A fulsome, structured and well rounded Pinot Noir with a soft acidity and generous mouthfeel

Reichsrat von Buhl
Organic. natural, sustainable viticulture As Greg Sherwood MW says of the 2015 vintage of this wine: "This is what top quality German Pinot Noir is all about" Super-serious grower, family-owned since 1849, organic, natural sustainable viticulture. Based in the prime Pfalz vineyards around Deidesheim and Forst, Von Buhl is up there with the best in this classic region - relatively warm by German standards, just north from the French Alsace wine region along the Rhine. As Jancis Robinson OBE MW notes this is a super spot for wine bargains. The nose shouts Pinot Noir: strawberry; spice; warm hay; all the classic markers. A whiff of oak, less animal than Burgundy, less plump than California. On the palate more classically German with bright elevated acidity, a cool lift. Let it breathe long, this is a bargain serious Pinot in the pale and mysterious idiom, well worth a look!

Chateau de Garnerot
This Bourgogne is cherry red in colour, with ruby red reflections. The nose expresses notes of raspberry, blackcurrant, liquorice, with notes of violet. The palate is soft with crisp tannins. The fresh and saline finish is accompanied by aromas of liquorice and pepper. This is a delicate style and so much better than your average Bourgogne Rouge, punching way above it's weight, it is a very stylish and classy wine indeed, Alexia Russo and Caroline Fyot pursued careers in the luxury industry for one and in insurance for the other before decided to reconnect with nature and fulfill a childhood dream: to create a wine estate. The pair chose Burgundy, the Cte Chalonnaise and the Chteau de Garnerot to create the estate because of its deep historical roots in the winemaking tradition.

Danbury Ridge
Displaying an array of ripe red fruit aromas with highlights of cherries, hints of smokiness and spice add complexity to the nose. The palate has a juicy acidity and fine tannins lending to a refreshingly long finish. Super-premium estate sited in the warmest, driest corner of England, near the coast and Malden (of posh salt fame). This south-facing ridge enjoys an exceptionally long warm growing season - so rare in England. Our old friend John Atkinson, Master of Wine, who is an expert on cool-climate viticulture, is enthusiastically involved. Winemaker is Liam Idzikowski who boasts long experience in English wine-making; backed by owners the Bunker family, the winery is an astonishing no-expense-spared jewel in the crown for English wine. The Pinot is deep and svelte in the Pommard/Volnay tradition, rich of fruit and cool of spice - clove, anise etc. Young but self-evidently grand, and deeply impressive.
