A splash of water releases more oiliness, like linseed oil, a gentle waxiness, and a burst of perfumed, aromatic carbolic soap, and finally, a whiff of crème brulee TASTE: A soft, oily, mouthcoating texture leads into a rich, sweet, smoky palate, with hints of oak moss, treacle, aniseed lozenges and a lovely, sweet, woody/balsamic flavour. This is then followed by smoked apricots and eucalyptus oil Finally comes a lingering, sweet/smoky aftertaste, with a touch of cumin, cardamon and the merest hint of coconut

Lochlea
Our seasonal small batch releases showcase the signature Lochlea style in four different ways each year. As a working farm, these expressions tie-in to reflect the farming calendar. In our ‘Fallow Edition’ (Second Crop), we’ve chosen a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks to create a beautifully rich, autumnal dram that has a very different flavour profile to ‘Fallow Edition’ (First Crop). The Oloroso butts give rich notes of manuka honey and golden syrup, whilst the introduction of the PX casks provides warming layers of sweetly spiced ginger candy and ground coffee beans. The third in a new set of four limited editions, ‘Fallow Edition’ (Second Crop) reflects the season of autumn on the farm, when the fields are left fallow to rest after a busy harvest.

This is Edradour at its best, bottled by the distillery's owners, Signatory Vintage, as part of their Unchillfiltered (UCF) collection. We'll spare you the philosophical discussion about wherther this counts as an official or independent bottling and get straight to the point. Distilled at Edradour distillery in 2012, this spirit was matured in a single first-fill sherry cask which acts as the ultimate balancing foil to the decidedly old-school, rustic and funky spirit character. As the name suggests, this whisky was bottled without chill-filtration, nor additional colouring.

Cu Bocan
Matured fully in Oloroso Sherry casks for a minimum of 15 years, Cù Bòcan 15 Year Old is a decadent single malt with sun dried fruits and smoky exotic spices. The Oloroso Sherry casks impart flavours of dried fruits, flamed orange peel, cinder toffee, black cherry and cardamom. The peat provides a traditional earthy dryness rather than an obvious smoke, this has helped keep some of the sweeter elements of the sherry casks perfectly balanced.
