Chateau Tour Saint Christophe
Jean Christophe Meyrot, ex La Violette (one of the top properties in Pomerol) . Full on but good structure. Juicy palate. Certainly ripe. Warm, good acid, persistent. More powerful than elegant. Forthright. Dark ruby color with black fruit notes like blackberries and black cherries, violet and dry herbs, leather and black pepper, nice minerality and French oak, some vanilla and tobacco. Nice balance and structure with a long finish.

Azienda Agricola Vicentini Agostino
Vicentini is a family business where Agostino works with his wife, Teressa, and their children Emanuele and Francesca. Based in San Zeno, a village at the mouth of the Val d‘Illarsi which resides inside both the Soave and Valpolicella DOCs, but is outside of their respective Classico zones. But don't let this last point cloud your vision to their outstanding wines produced in two distinct and great terroirs. The first terroir is on volcanic rock within the Valle dei Ciliegi, here the land is largely responsible for their "Valpolicella" and "Soave Casale". The second terroir is on limestone in the commune of Terrelunghe, where Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave are grown for the 'Terrelunghe' Soave. Select bunches of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara from the steep terraces in the valley of cherries. Macerated and wild fermentation takes place at controlled temperature for nearly three weeks with gentle pump overs. Softly pressed and put to tonneaux for 18 months. In bottle a further two years before release. This is really fine Valpolicella. The volcanic soils in the vineyards help produce a rich wine with elegance, purity and finesse. Cherry, dark red fruits with hints of cedar and dried fig are interwoven into a beautiful expression. Utterly wonderful.

But don't let this last point cloud your vision to their outstanding wines produced in two distinct and great terroirs. The second terroir is on limestone in the commune of Terrelunghe, where Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave are grown for the 'Terrelunghe' Soave. Only produced in the very, very best vintages. An 'old school' pure Valpolicella - no appassimento, no ripasso, nada. Simply beautiful fruit hand-harvested slightly later from their highest altitude, volcanic vineyard (1ha) near Cazzano di Tramigna at bewteen 500-600m above sea level . After the first selection by the pickers, there is a second when the bunches arrive at the winery. The grapes are then crushed straight away and fermentation takes place in vat. After fermentation is complete, the juice is gently pressed to used tonneaux for two years aging. The wine then spends a further two in bottle before release. A rich wine with great structure and balance. It's a deep, dark and multi-layered beauty. Seriously wonderful now, but this vintage shall develop more complexity in time to add to the fruit, spice and balsamic notes. A wonderful experience.

42.5% Alicante Bouschet, 27.5% Alfrocheiro, 15% Syrah, 15% Touriga Nacional, from their estate in the Portalegre subregion at around 500 m. The hand-picked grapes are hand-sorted, destemmed and crushed. Fermented in tank with some post-fermentation maceration. 50% of the blend aged 8 months in 400-litre French oak barrels. Very dark crimson, the colour marked by the Alicante Bouschet, no doubt. Both dark-fruited and stony-mineral plus the blueberry and spice of these varieties and a slight hint of Touriga's perfume but this last is very much a sideline. Savoury, rocky and enticing. Not giving much away even now. On the palate, powerful, rich, full of black fruit and starting to show the evolution in the bottle in black-olive flavour. A big wine yet balanced. Tannins still exerting a firm grip but beginning to smooth, and the oak is present but fully integrated. Needs food for sure, and always will.

Cave de Fleurie
This wine is available for delivery, in shop purchase and click and collect from Thursday 20th November 2025. This delightful soft fruity red is more than just a marketing gimmick: intense ruby, purple colour with classic notes of raspberries, morello cherries, but also blackcurrants and wild strawberries. Gamay just wants to have fun!

Cambridge Wine Merchants
Has to be one of the best-value most impressive French red wines on the UK market. Special edition made for us by famed Chateauneuf grower Roger Sabon, the wine-maker is esteemed Didier Negron. Charmingly honest, hearty (15%!), herbal, dense and punchy, juicy red from the classic southern varieties of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault & friends. What a beauty, what a bargain. Although full-bodied the wine has soft tannins and a silky texture - this is the beauty of Southern Rhone reds, ready to enjoy as soon as they're made, unlike Bordeaux or Burgundy. Grenache in this hot sunny heaven gives ripe raspberry and black cherry notes and depth, Syrah gives a classic black pepper spice and dark-chocolate grip. A cool fennel / mint edge and lift. 'Declassified' as Vin de France, but this is not a 'negoce' wine made from bought-in grapes: all the grapes come from Sabon estates, and winemaking is by Didier Negron, as per their top wines. About Roger Sabon: Domaine Roger Sabon came into being in 1952 when the family vineyards were split into three distinct entities (the other two being Domaine Chante-Cigale and Clos Mont Olivet). Robert Parker, who awarded their 1988 vintage a perfect 100 rating, the first Chateauneuf-du-Pape so honoured, has this to say about Domaine Roger Sabon: “This estate has been at the top of its game for many years and any partisan of Rhone Valley wines… who has not yet tried a wine from Domaine Roger Sabon should make every effort to do so... This estate has been making exceptionally high-quality wines for years, but recent vintages seem to have risen to a new level of quality.”

Framingham
A lovely bouquet, youthful and vibrant, crunchy and fresh with scents of red berry fruits and a light savoury dried herb touch. A layer of new oak and woody spice qualities adds bredth. On the palate a dry wine, youthful and textured, dry and savoury, a core of red berry fruits and paprika smoke spices. Well made with plenty of tannin and acidity for mouthfeel. Best drinking from 2025 through 2031+ Expressive aromatics, with flint, Meyer lemon, and a subtle short bread note. A well-rounded palate with volume and mouthfeel. Flavours of passion and stone fruit, sweet herbs and a fine boned acid finish. Enjoy with sushi, mussels, oysters and light salads.

Chateau Beau Site
74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot. Low yields of 17 hl/ha following the hail storm in June and the deep gravels the Cabernet is planted on. 14.0% ABV. 40% new oak. What is made is very good, clean and long with precise extraction and ripe but not overripe fruit. It derives from a gravel "croupe" near Calon-Ségur. "Beau-Site" means beautiful site and lies just behind Grand Cru Château Calon-Segur on one of Medoc's highest points with fantastic views over the river Gironde. It was originally classified as a Cru Bourgeois Superieur in 1932 but in 1966 Beau Site was reclassified as a Cru Grand Bourgeois Exceptionnel. The Castéja family, who also own Château Batailley and Château Trotte Vieille, bought the château in 1955. The château has nearly 100 hectares of vines with an average age of 35 years. Beau-Site's 18th century underground cellar is one of the oldest in the Médoc and presents the perfect maturing conditions for a wine that is vinified with the same care and technique as a Grand Cru Classé. Beau-Site's wine is full of power and temperament, a typical Saint-Estèphe with tannins allowing for keeping this wine for some years.

Famille Perrin
Vinsobres is the most northern appellation of the Southern Rhône. The Perrin family owns around 80 hectares here. The vineyards grow at altitudes of 200 - 450 metres, in terraces, with the Prealps on one side and Mont Ventoux on the other. The soils are stony and sandy marl on the slopes, and stony quaternary alluviums on the terraces. A very particular microclimate protects the village and the vines planted which are planted in amphitheatre formation. Summers are hot and dry, with the local Mistral and Pontias winds bringing cooler air at night.

Chateau d'Escurac
CWM Ranking - High 2:1 The best wine I have tasted from this usually reliable estate, an improvement even on the 2016 vintage. Packed with ripe fruit the extraction is well controlled, allowing the palate to build and remain fruity to the finish.

Weingut Max Ferd.Richter
Garnet in colour, mostly opaque and bright. The nose takes a few minutes to open and then shows cherries and black cherries with some spice. On the palate, this is full bodied with a nice nice texture. Lots of black cherry fruit. A bit of anise on the long finish. Blind, I think I would have guessed Oregon or maybe California here due to all the ripe fruit. Still quite young, perhaps another two or three years will calm it down for those looking for more elegance. I quite enjoyed this as is. It will continue to drink nicely for a decade. Great on its own, this will work well with classic Pinot dishes such as roasted duck.

Cuvelier Los Andes
Argentinean cousins of Ch Leoville Poyferré, combining French know-how with the Argentine experience and the Mendoza terroir. Bodega Cuvelier Los Andes is one of the founding members of the Clos de Los Siete, which we also sell. A blend of 70% Malbec, 13% Syrah, 10% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark damson juiciness with a hint of dark chocolate and gentle bite of tannin on the finish, this is richly silky but keeps nicely fresh too.

Dom. des Lampyres
Francois Xavier AKA 'FX'. FX was vineyard manager for Tom Lubbe at Domaine Matassa for five years. He spent a further year with Domaine Danjou-Banessy. After such time this local lad set up in Espira to make his own wholly exciting wines. Whole bunch fermentation in stainless-steel tanks for 5 days for this beautiful Mourvedre from very old wines. On the morning of the 6th day the grapes were pressed, and the juice transferred back to stainless-steel tanks to complete fermentation. Only the naturally occurring indigenous yeasts were used in the fermentation. The wine was then aged 5 months in tank. Prior to bottling a very low dose of sulphites was added. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Vivid, bright and wild wine.
