Mineral, saline aromas. Quite spicy. A little bit tropical, guava, passionfruit. Melon fruit, juicy, vibrant. Totally different. Very juicy. Textural. Plump but not fat. Bigger boned.

From the 2023 vintage the Brajkovitch family have blended the grapes from their new Rays Road vineyard (Hawke's Bay) with some outstanding richer Kumeu fruit with delicious results. The wine displays a bright cherry red /burgundy colour with lifted red fruit aromas. On the palate the wine is cool, round and fruity and with a nice hint of chalky tannin that keeps the wine dry and refreshing.

A seductive combination of white nectarine, pink grapefruit and candied orange rind mingles with the more savoury aromas of roasted chestnuts and hot buttered brioche – an elaborate concoction infused with linseed and woodsmoke. A heady fragrance of peony and violets, red cherry and pomegranate, overlaid with a smoky, earthy savouriness. The character reflects the perfume and delicacy of the vintage, whilst retaining its innate muscular tannin structure that ensures it will age very well. The palate shows great intensity, complexity and structure.

Right from the get-go, this sets itself apart from the rest of the pack with a level of polish, complexity and balance. The nose has ripe peach and mango fruits; gentle savoury, yeasty complexity adds biscuity aromas too. The palate has an immediate sense of concentration and the textural richness builds in smooth layers; there’s pear and nectarine, and a juicy, precise finish. Scents of a summer orchard: juicy nectarines, plump sun-dried apricots and tree-ripened lemons mingled with musky oriental spices. The palate is silky and sumptuous – warm honeyed stone fruit with almonds and shortcake. A lithe, textural wine of intense richness, laced with a citrusy, sherbet-like zest.

From a legendary New Zealand producer. Really pleasing nose. Straight up, classical, pure. Slightly smoky, but soft too. Creamy, sweet lemon, slightly pithy on the finish. Clean, simple, and pleasing.

Sometimes it can be hard to find a word to match what seems so clear to the senses. The nose is dark, as is the colour, beguiling, but restrained. There is a stature to the palate here; a sort of authority to the way it stands back and allows you to explore its detail. A definite sprig of herbs, chocolate notes, but still so transparent that every nuance is revealed. It seems extraordinary that this is just the second time we’ve made MacMuir as a single vineyard release: it’s Felton Road, to be sure, but in a different dimension. Refined, poised and balanced. A welcoming burst of warmth and intensity on the nose. A squeeze of ripe lemon freshens an intense palate of yellow stone fruit framed by mouthwatering saline acidity. Gentle notes of toast provide a savoury backbone to the luscious fruit, providing moreish balance.

On the palate a dry wine, youthful and textured, dry and savoury, a core of red berry fruits and paprika smoke spices. Well made with plenty of tannin and acidity for mouthfeel. Best drinking from 2025 through 2031+ Expressive aromatics, with flint, Meyer lemon, and a subtle short bread note. A well-rounded palate with volume and mouthfeel. Hawksdrift is a family owned vineyard, located in the Dillons Point region of Marlborough. Shelter from the Wither Hills range, contributes to a long, hot ripening season, meaning, the fruit is left to ripen when other, cooler areas have shut down. Aromas of fresh gooseberry, passionfruit and papaya. The palate is full of tropical fruits and citrus characters which continue through to a long refreshing finish.

Clear, creamy, nutty, silky. Ripe pear, nutmeg. 4.4g/l sugar, but tastes much richer. Winemaker Fiona Turner really is a star.

How can one not love that instant bath of flowers, fruits and spice that this wine delivers? This is a great addition to our New Zealand range - a refreshing, crisp and succulent Albarino from the ever-ebullient winemaker Gordon Russell.

This is an excellent wine, very much in the style of Sauvignon Blanc that has made Marlborough famous, fresh grassy aromatics with superb texture and palate weight and fresh overall crispness. A small proportion of Semillon goes into the beland adding complexity and richness.

The influence of wild yeast, vineyard site, barrel ferment and time on lees makes for a rich and textural style of Sauvignon Blanc. Fifteen months in French barriques has given this wine a well-rounded textural palate while still retaining freshness at the back of the palate.

A particularly elegant, finely balanced example of Marlborough Chardonnay. Ripe, concentrated flavours of citrus and nectarine fruit with barrel ferment nuttiness and a slightly creamy texture help to give a subtly persistent weight and finish. The wine shows an array of fruit characters, ranging from citrus through to tropical notes. This is complemented by some secondary characters from the natural yeast ferments and some barrel ageing. The palate has an elegant structure with a creamy, textural mid-palate and a long finish.

This is a great addition to our New Zealand range - a refreshing, crisp and succulent Pinot Gris. Apricot on the nose, and a more subtle pear with a touch of citrus to wash it down when you start drinking. It's smooth and refreshing, while also being interesting enough to want to keep coming back. It is a single vineyard wine from the Keltern Vineyard situated near Maraekakaho on a stony river terrace formed by the Ngaruroro River. With warm daytime temperatures and cool nights this is an ideal site to grow premium Pinot Gris grapes. A small portion of barrel fermentation has added richness and complexity to this delicious and highly drinkable wine.

Clearly many steps above standard NZSB, a masterpiece of subtlety from the co-founder of Cloudy Bay.
