Pauly Bergweiler
In such a hot vintage such a spaetlese is of Auslese intensity. Impossibly succulent, like an over-ripe pear, with mint and mineral notes, cool and bright with tight lime acidity. Impossible ancient family grower, exceptional best-in-a-generation vintage.

Lucien Crochet
"The winery is ultra modern, fitted out with the very latest temperature controlled fermentation vessels. The emphasis is on creating wines of fi nesse and complexity that are faithful to terroir and vintage. The vineyards are located around the towns of Bué, Sancerre and Crézancy, the finest of which is the south-facing limestone-based Chêne Marchand vineyard. Gilles makes his wines as naturally as possible using indigenous yeasts and through hand picking, careful selection of the grapes and long, slow ageing sur lie produces taut, sophisticated and age-worthy Sancerre."

Savage
The 2022 Salt River combines fruit from a 32 year old bushvine vineyard in Stellenbosch and another coastal site in Walker Bay. Named for the trendy area of Cape Town that Savage Wines calls home, it drinks more like a Pouilly Fume than a Marlborough Sauvignon, with a real lushness to the palate, flavours of yellow plums, semi-dried pineapple, moringa flowers, a tiny hint of reduction and this amazing intense tanginess. Think sun-ripened yellow peppers blended up, with grapefruit pith and the faintest hint of blackcurrant. Terrific body and stunningly long in the mouth, it's tasting great now, and we're sure it will age with grace too.

Domaine Fournillon
Pascal Fournillon is a sweet-natured man, always happy when people find him in the sleepy hamlet of Bernouil, some 10 miles north-east of Chablis town. His mum also makes the best gougeres if you need further incentive. Pascal's vineyards cover some 23 hectares of land in the appellations of Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru and Epineuil. He is bottling more and more of his own wine rather than selling in bulk and this means we have access to good allocations of Chablis that Pascal is happy to age for us for a few years till it is perfect to drink. This Bourgogne Chardonnay is from vineyards near Chablis and bears all the hallmarks of it; steely, lemony, fine and elegant.

Siete Pulgadas means Seven Inch, hence the picture of the vinyl record on the label. Very nice and fresh Albariño, with lovely tropical fruit aromas. Nice zesty palate with lemon and lime. There’s also passion fruit and peach and well balanced minerals. This wine offers good value from Rias Baixas where prices are on the rise due to global demand. Albarino is in vogue and nearly all of it comes from Rias Baixas.

Von Schubert
Vinous: A lovely nose of fresh apple garlanded in apple blossom and honeysuckle is followed by a silken, delicate, generously juicy palate in which the fruit is adeptly supported by discreet sweetness. The floral perfume continues inner-mouth for a delectably billowing effect, and the lusciously long finish features a sense of transparency to wet stone and tinglingly gingery nuances that were missing from the dry wines of the present collection. An ancient former monastic wine estate on the famous Maximin Grünhaus hill in the Ruwer, where wine has been made for 2000 years or so. Three of the region’s top vineyards, for which von Schubert are world-famous, sit on this hill: Herrenberg; Bruderberg; Abstberg. Von Schubert's wines are taut, mineral, deft and delightful - perfect classics of their style.

Moorooduc Estate
Kate McIntyre is the queen of Mornington, consistently turning out the most critically acclaimed wines from this famous area near Melbourne. Pale gold in colour with a lovely fragrant nose of yellow pear, chamomile, elderflower, blossom and a touch of honey. On the palate the pear and quince fruit characters are rich and mouth filling with lovely textural phenolics. The wine is long and full flavoured with a tangy seaspray saltiness on the finish. A great match to a warm goats cheese salad, with a touch of quince jelly.

Domaine Vendome
100% Viognier from Les Méjeans next to the winery on mix of kaolin white clay, argile calcaire and also decayed granite just above where the northern boundary of Crozes-Hermitage dips southward on the map, but the elevation remains high at 350m in between Gervans and Larnage, just a little to the north. Hand harvested in early morning, steel vat fermented at 18°C, raised 9 months, malo blocked. What a lovely wine from a unique, interesting terroir. A quite serious but relaxed and lovely, aromatic, floral, juicy but bright drinking Viognier with a gentle, gorgeous creaminess on the finish. Delicious as an apero or with semi hard goats cheese, peaches and charcuterie. A classy drop indeed.

Antech
A blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Mauzac. Traditional method. Exclusively hand-picked with immediate pneumatic pressing. Initial fermentation takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. After assemblage a second fermentaion takes place in bottle. The wines are 'forgotten' in the cellars for 5 years. Then this Grande Cuvée is finally revealed - showing incredible freshness and great delicacy. The wine is dosed at only 5g/l. Coming in at 12% alc. The wine is rich and complex with a beautiful golden colour with fine and very delicate bubbles. Rich caramel tones interwoven with crystalised fruit with fine vanilla and a whiff of gingerbread on the nose. The palate is delightfully youthful with accompanying citrus notes with orange oil and zest. A remarkable and truly special Cremant de Limoux. A special sparkling wine.

Domaine Odyssee
Natural, organic Macabeu from a beautiful vineyard in Calce, Roussillon blended 50/50 with Chenin Blanc from Aveyron in central France! The Chenin Blanc is from Vincent's friends at Coultades du Coustoubi. The '78' moniker comes from both postcodes being added together - 66 for Roussillon and 12 for Aveyron. The blend makes for a wine of great character with a precise, floral nose, a good body that has great tension with fine acidity. Really interesting and ultimately, hugely satisfying wine. Vincent Carreras has been working in wine industry for 13 years. For nine years he worked for a winery in the south of the Roussillon, Andy Cook’s Mas Cristine and Coume del Mas. Working in the vineyard, cellar and commercial activities - the whole shebang! For four years now he has been employed by a family winery based in Maury - Clos des Vins d'Amour. Who work 25 hectares organically in the west of Roussillon. Mostly in commercial activities, but also working in the cellar. Alongside this, in 2016, Vincent started a new project - Domaine Odyssée. The 3.5ha of vineyards are in Calce and Baixas, in a heart of Roussillon. The sites are small, but unquestionably some of the most beautiful we have seen. Vincent draws on the experiences mentioned above and his time in New Zealand (2011), Argentina (2012) and Bordeaux 2011 to help fully realise what he has there in his exceptional terroir. Vincent works organically, using no weedkillers, no chemical products. He works by hand and with organic fertilizer (he is in conversion right now). He harvests his parcels by himself with friends and family. In the cellar, Vincent’s philosophy is a minimum of intervention "To keep the fruit and the terroir.". The wines are extracted gently with just a little pump over. No filtration, no fining. The only preservative is a little dose of sulphites in very low quantities at bottling "It is important for me the stabilise the wine in respect of the future customers".

R. López de Heredia
López de Heredia - Viña Tondonia is particularly well-known and admired for its white wines, and Viña Gravonia is a very good option for getting to know its good work, a first step, and obviously much more affordable and accessible. Just its appearance, its colour, demonstrates clearly this winery’s exceptional work as true masters in the art of ageing wine: notice how little this white has been evolving; aged for four years in American oak barrels, with a long maturation in bottle until now, and yet it appears a lovely gold colour without evolution. Viña Gravonia is the house's most modest wine but its complexity is quite remarkable. The first impression on the nose is one of maturity and moisture: wet stones, sea breezes, gentle whiffs of iodine, which come as a surprise to anyone accustomed to lighter, younger whites, but which immediately captivates lovers of mature, complex whites. Swirling it round a little, straightaway it offers a blend of fresh, citrus aromas, with lactic notes (cheese) and ripe fruits, of ripe pear skin and lime blossom tea, with a very pleasant freshness once it becomes still in the glass. It is dry on the palate: don't expect a sweetish wine with this sort of maturity; its acidity is extraordinary and will enable it to continue evolving over time. The notes suggesting moisture and other aromas discerned on the nose are repeated now on the palate: evolved fruit, raw almonds and notes reminding us of cheese. It is an easy wine to drink, fluid, medium-bodied, a perfect companion for aperitifs and less complex dishes, mushrooms, full-fat cheeses and any mild dish combining these ingredients. Tondonia white wines relate extremely well to food and should be served at virtually the temperature of a red, remember: at about 14-16 degrees, or you will miss out on all its richness!

El Porvenir
The Torrontes grapes from which this wine is made are grown 1,800 metres above sea level estate vineyards in Cafayete, Salta – a place the Incas once ruled. The name, Munay is the Quechuan word for love. A juicy wine with floral and stone fruit aromas, fresh and well balanced with acidity and minerality. El Porvenir specialise in Torrontes, Malbec, Tannat and red blends from 45-50 year old vineyards which are amongst the highest in the world at 1900m asl and peopled with 20-foot, 200 year old monster cacti. Colour in the reds here is profound due to the exposure to prolonged mountain sunlight, with soft tannins due in part to the extreme diurnal temperature differences. Winemaker Mariano Quiroga Adamo is one of Argentina’s brightest young winemakers and El Porvenir benefits from the sage involvement of renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs, who has been involved here for many years. The company is run by the energetic Lucia Romero-Marcuzzi and the packaging and labels reflect the Inca Cross which is a common symbol in this part of the Andes.

Ibizkus
Ibizkus Wine, founded in 2007, has now established itself as one of the finest wineries on the island of Ibiza. They produce wine from nearly half the island’s registered vineyards, all originally planted for auto-consumption, of which the vast majority is the black grape, Monastrell. Seen as one of the founding and iconic grapes of Ibiza’s long winemaking past, Ibizkus use it to produce fine reds and flagship rose. About 40% of its production is dedicated to national and export markets, and to promoting its fabulous wines, quality and winemaking potential of this famous Balearic Island across Europe. The Can Basso Blanco is made from a blend of approximately 75% Malvasía Ibicenca and 25% aromatic Malvasía (known as “Malvasía de Sitges”) planted in Ibiza in the mid-1990s, the wine is fermented and aged in second-use, 700-liter French-oak barrels with 7 months stirring on lees. An elegant, creamy and expressive wine with notes of white-stone fruit and citrus, a lovely saline quality and plenty of body and structure.

Jean- Paul & Benoît Droin
"The Droins have been producing wines in Chablis for nearly 400 years (their history as vignerons goes back at least to 1620). Benoît represents the14th generation of Droins and is one of the most dynamic winemakers in the region... Although these are rich, full-bodied, buttery wines, they still manage to retain a steeliness, raciness and purity of fruit which are the hallmarks of classic Chablis." Jasper Morris MW
