Robert parker Notes : The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes Dessus is brilliant, unfurling in the glass with aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with racy acids and a layered, textural mid-palate, it concludes with a saline finish.

Domaine Bruno Sorg
The late Bruno and his son François realised a dream ten years ago with the final purchase of a plot of steep ‘garrigue’ in the heart of the Grand Cru Pfersigberg. They now have amassed 1½ hectares in one plot. Bruno had secretly been buying parcels of this land for the last 30 years. Much hard work was necessary, in clearing the forest and then terracing the very steep slopes. This great vineyard is planted with Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris and the fruit was used for the first time in 2004. In 2004 François Sorg built a temperature controlled winery just outside the village. François says he now has time to think instead of climbing up and down ladders and stairs. The wines were always first division but now they have that extra dimension.

Vines of average age 40 years. It is important to understand the subsoil and originality of the different parcels that make up the cuvée ‘Terroir’, seeking to be above all the full expression of Chardonnay. On the palate is developed the freshness of minerality peculiar to Pouilly-Fuissé.

Esk Valley
This is a great addition to our New Zealand range - a refreshing, crisp and succulent Pinot Gris from the ever-ebullient winemaker Gordon Russell. Apricot on the nose, and a more subtle pear with a touch of citrus to wash it down when you start drinking. It's smooth and refreshing, while also being interesting enough to want to keep coming back.

Domaine Bruno Sorg
Wonderfully textured, creamy, spicy big squishy cuddle of a wine. Smells of poached pears with spices and a dollop of rich double cream. A crystallised ginger sweet/heat is bounded by citrus acidity. What a piece of work at the price. Classic cheese wine.
