A A Badenhorst
Certainly fresher than some previous vintages, this is immensely mouth-watering. Struck rock, clotted cream and orange blossom, just ripe greengage and honeydew melon, with a lightly creamy, leesy palate and zingy, white peppery finish. A proper treat from the master. "A fabulous bargain. Overdelivers in the most delightful way". Jancis Robinson MW

Basket Range Wines
Cracking good Chardonnay from Sholto at Basket Range. On the nose - lemons galore. On the palate, it's fresh and energetic, with a fine line of citrussy acidity, hints of florals and white peach. Oak is present but well-integrated and offers nice toasty complexity on the finish. Stock up - this is a drinker! From Sholto Broderick at Basket Range Wines: Vineyards: This wine comes from two vineyards within a close proximity of our vineyard and winery. The Deanery vineyard is situated in Balhannah, 7km east of us. We pick this vineyard first, being in a slightly warmer site. The clones of this chardonnay are i10v1 and Mendoza (a small-berried clone giving greater skin to juice ratio, that for example, is the clone in Kumeu's Mate's Vineyard). Ali’s vineyard is situated in the heart of the Piccadilly Valley, 8km to the south-west of our vineyard. This vineyard has some of the oldest Chardonnay vines in the Adelaide Hills. Ali's vineyard produces fruit with great intensity and acid drive and is a combination of g9v7 and i10v1 clones. Winemaking: Each parcel of chardonnay was direct-pressed then cold settled before racking to French barrique and puncheon barrels (10% new) for fermentation and maturation for 9 months. Some battonage was used during maturation. There is a tight freshness here, with white stone fruits and a healthy dose of lemon on both the nose and palate. Gorgeous length too, helped by a touch of gentle oak and lees complexity. It all adds up to a beautiful, understated wine, but with plenty going on under the hood. Serve at 12c.

Domaine La Loyane
A blend of Clairette 70% and Grenache 30%. 80 year old vines are planted in mixed soils of red sand, clay and round pebbles. Grapes are hand-harvested and vinification takes place in 100% old wooden casks. The wine is matured in large ‘demi-muid’ barrels for 6 months on the lees. Domaine La Lôyane was voted Winemaker of the Year in 2018 by the Guide Hachette, France's wine bible. La Lôyane refers to the place where the estate is built, a place formerly occupied by wolves! The estate, founded in 1994, is located in the south of the Rhône Valley, near Avignon in the Lirac cru. The Dubois family has been cultivating its 20 hectares of vines there for 4 generations! And the last, with Romain Dubois, has cnverted the estate to organic farming. An extremely precise estate, which is constantly moving upmarket and producing wines from vines that are sometimes more than a century old!

Savage
The 2023 Salt River combines fruit from a 34 year old bushvine vineyard in Stellenbosch and another coastal site in Walker Bay. Named for the trendy area of Cape Town that Savage Wines calls home, it drinks more like a Pouilly Fume than a Marlborough Sauvignon, with a real lushness to the palate, flavours of yellow plums, semi-dried pineapple, moringa flowers, a tiny hint of reduction and this amazing intense tanginess. Think sun-ripened yellow peppers blended up, with grapefruit pith and the faintest hint of blackcurrant. Terrific body and stunningly long in the mouth, it's tasting great now, and we're sure it will age with grace too.

Domaine Odyssee
Natural, organic Macabeu from a beautiful vineyard in Calce, Roussillon. Grown with great care and wildly fermented and aged in old oak barrels. Floral, racy and minerally with soft texture and generous apple and apricot fruit. Just lovely. Vincent Carreras has been working in wine industry for 13 years. For nine years he worked for a winery in the south of the Roussillon, Andy Cook’s Mas Cristine and Coume del Mas. Working in the vineyard, cellar and commercial activities - the whole shebang! For four years now he has been employed by a family winery based in Maury - Clos des Vins d'Amour. Who work 25 hectares organically in the west of Roussillon. Mostly in commercial activities, but also working in the cellar. Alongside this, in 2016, Vincent started a new project - Domaine Odyssée. The 3.5ha of vineyards are in Calce and Baixas, in a heart of Roussillon. The sites are small, but unquestionably some of the most beautiful we have seen. Vincent draws on the experiences mentioned above and his time in New Zealand (2011), Argentina (2012) and Bordeaux 2011 to help fully realise what he has there in his exceptional terroir. Vincent works organically, using no weedkillers, no chemical products. He works by hand and with organic fertilizer (he is in conversion right now). He harvests his parcels by himself with friends and family. In the cellar, Vincent’s philosophy is a minimum of intervention "To keep the fruit and the terroir.". The wines are extracted gently with just a little pump over. No filtration, no fining. The only preservative is a little dose of sulphites in very low quantities at bottling "It is important for me the stabilise the wine in respect of the future customers".

Domaine Odyssee
Natural, organic Macabeu from a beautiful vineyard in Calce, Roussillon blended 50/50 with Chenin Blanc from Aveyron in central France! The Chenin Blanc is from Vincent's friends at Coultades du Coustoubi. The '78' moniker comes from both postcodes being added together - 66 for Roussillon and 12 for Aveyron. The blend makes for a wine of great character with a precise, floral nose, a good body that has great tension with fine acidity. Really interesting and ultimately, hugely satisfying wine. Vincent Carreras has been working in wine industry for 13 years. For nine years he worked for a winery in the south of the Roussillon, Andy Cook’s Mas Cristine and Coume del Mas. Feudo Antico
Feudo Antico was created on a small plot of land in the heart of Abruzzo. It is in Italy's smallest DOP and the first designation of its kind in Abruzzo. Lemon yellow in colour with golden edges. The bouquet is fruity with pear, golden apple, almond with spicy nuances of sage and lavender. Plenty of delicious acidity, balanced and well integrated into the fruit, full-bodied, consistent with long aromatic persistence and a slightly phenolic finish. Starting from the 2013 vintage, all wines are Magis certified, the most advanced project for the sustainability of wine production in Italy. Currently their 15 hectares are cultivated using native varieties producing limited yields to ensure quality is retained. Clearly they highly value the land they work and this attitude is continued in the winery where the fruit and wine come into contact with no wood whatsoever, only concrete and glass. This guarantees the purity of the fruit, and its flavours, are conveyed from the vineyard direct to the glass.

Domaine Bruno Sorg
What a joy, and a rare treat. Very old vine Pinot Gris is quite a rarity across Alsace. Mature Pinot Gris wines develop gorgeous nutty creamy flavours over time - but that's a long time to wait. Strangely such a wine, although quite young, made from ancient vines, seems to offer some of the same complexity. Ripe orchard fruits on the nose, oily creamy spicy flavours to follow. full bodied. What a food wine!

Both Organic and Fairtrade. The Sauvignon brings herbaceous and lime notes, and a zingy citrus acidity. The Chenin Blanc adds a fruity mid palate of stone fruit and guava.

Olivier Leflaive
All the grapes come from the communes of Puligny Montrachet and Meursault and the wine is made by the same super-star team who make Leflaive's famed great whites. Some pedigree, some bargain! Smells like a hint of luxury! Indeed I'd say this is more eminently deployable than many of those Greats, in a mid-week context. All the markers are there: vanilla; nuts; mineral; honey; tarragon etc. but all in a reasonably reserved expression. Jancis Robinson OBE MW "Light nose and lots of vivacious, dancing fruit. Olivier seems to have the recipe … and it's fair value. If I found this in a country pub, I’d be delighted..." Les Setilles was served at Meghan and Harry's wedding.

Beautiful fruity wine from Sicily, great value for money with notes of grapefruits and citrus like lemon and pear. Bright and pleasing acidity. Notes of mineral enhance the refreshing taste. Nice pairing with fish and drink chill dishes.
