Domaine Christian Bellang
Superbly elegant Meursault. Nothing thick or cloying to this wine. Brioche and vanilla on the nose and palate. Gentle layer of lemon hovering over events with a sliver of oak making up an incredibly structured wine. Lovely texture.

Christian Bellang & Fils
The Bellang family have been making wine in Burgundy for generations, but its only since son Christophe took over in the 90s that their reputation has soared, his Meursaults are excellent without the huge price tag that many have. Very nicely balanced fresh chardonnay flavours, ranging from zingy citrus and apple, through peach, to a little sweet mango and fresh guava. Gentle, restrained oak, which adds a bit of vanilla and butterscotch to the creamy body without overpowering.

Domaine Olivier Leflaive
Youd expect this wine to be one of the best in the stable: from home turf, made from a magnificent blend of grapes from all but two of the villages lieux-dits in 2021. It is one of the most complete and compelling portraits of the village youll find, and its a wine to remind you that these Olivier Leflaive wines are not only the most benchmark example of their appellations, but also some of the most exciting in their category. This is everything Puligny should be, and more: tight, steely, nervous, and in 2021, fabulously concentrated in rich fruit with a long, chalky, mineral finish

Armand Heitz
When we speak of Connivance, we mean a secret agreement, the pooling of a form of intelligence, with a convergence of ideas and actions. The idea of ??the Connivence cuvée was born from a desire to share a common love of the land and good wine. It is also in this idea that the label was created, with two vines that intertwine to form one, thus showing the alliance of two winegrowers to create this wine. 50% Gamay from the Château du Moulin-à-Vent, and 50% Gamay from the Armand Heitz estate. This is a wine like no other, it is rich and powerful, yet delicate at the same time. The finish seems to go on forever, but it oh so subtle in doing it.It is Gamay fruit but with a more Cotes de Nuits edge to it. Amazing!

Domaine Claude Marechale
To quote Allen Meadows; the quality of these wines is nothing short of phenomenal compared to the usual quality of the respective appellations. Claude Marechal makes his wines as naturally as possible, taking his inspiration from his late friend Henri Jayer who he trained with early in his career. In common with Jayer he makes wines above and beyond the expectations of his terroirs. His wines are pure and sleek with vibrant fruit and great potential to age. In the vineyard ripeness is the watchword and the vines are maintained in order to maximise phenolic maturity every vintage whatever the conditions. No chemical fertilisers are used and the harvest is hand picked each vintage, Claude says he is usually the last in each appellation to pick which shows on the ripe fruited nature of his wines. After harvest the bunches are sorted by hand and gently de-stemmed before vinification using natural yeasts. The fermenting must is pumped over twice daily and once alcoholic fermentation is finished the wines are placed into oak barrels where they mature for between 10 and 15 months. From tastings of back vintages at the domaine it is clear these are wines that are built to age well. Claude has not changed his prices for the 2021 vintage.

Dom Frederic Magnien
Frédéric Magnien is widely regarded as one of the shrewdest and sharpest young winemakers working in the Côte d'Or today. In the winery, Frédéric adopts a hands-off approach as much as is practically possible, enabling each wine to display its individual vineyard origins. His wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered and are as modern as the presentation. The small commune of Vosne-Romanée is the Côte de Nuits brightest star, producing the finest and most expensive Pinot Noir wines in the world, and boasting no fewer than eight Grand Cru vineyards. Its wines have an extraordinary intensity of fruit which manages to combine power and finesse more magically than in any other part of the Côte dOr. The best examples balance extraordinary depth and richness with elegance and breeding.

Domaine du Comte Armand
This is from the lieux-dits Famines, which has the old vines, and Grands Champs, which is just above Famines. You can sense how Pauls winemaking has worked: there is a lovely, ripe, open entry of pure coulis, but then a tightening of the tannins to pull the wine together.

Armand Heitz
Region-level wines from top producers have become the best source of value in Burgundy. This bottling from Armand Heitz is case in point. Rich and toasty, yet fresh and mineral-driven, this is classic White Burgundy that you can treat as an everyday wine. Tastes like: Ripe peach, toasted bread, vanilla, smoke. How to drink: Chilled, but not cold, alongside roast chicken or seafood in cream sauce.

Patrick Javillier
Patrick Javillier is a perfectionist. He vinifies parcel by parcel giving the wine its concentration and richness. Raspberry and vanilla go hand-in-hand on the nose. Supple, fresh, this wine is discreet and accessible in its youth. Les Grands Liards is located at the foot of the hillside with a clay and limestone soil rich in pebbles. Asian style beef will be enhanced by this Red Savigny-Lès-Beaune.

Rene Bouvier
Le Finage, which means territory, is the name given to this wine from different Marsannay plots. The vines grow on several clay-limestone soils, producing a fully rounded wine, in which you will find energetic tannins, fruity aromas (raspberry), and spices. Consistency and freshness mark the finish of this perfect ambassador for the appellation. We recommend drinking this wine during its dynamic first 5 years, but it can be kept for longer. It may be necessary to decant certain vintages in their first few years. Depending on the vintage, we use 50% whole-bunch fermentation. The wine is aged for about 12 months in barrels (with 15% of new barrels) and 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

Domaine Bachey-Legros
A delicious Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy's lesser known but fantastic appellations - Maranges. The vines for this wine date back to 1945 and create a wine that is concentrated with a deep, rich colour and wonderful expressive fruit flavours. The grapes are allowed to ripen to maturity before harvest to obtain the softest possible tannins. Drinking superbly now and can also age for many years to come. Perfect with turkey, game and even beef.

Domaine du Clos Frantin
This is a wine made from carefully handpicked fruit vinified in Albert Bichots gravity-fed winery in their special temperature controlled conical oak vats. The temperature is kept cool at the beginning of the fermentation to control the speed and to extract fresh cherry, strawberry, and currant fruit flavours from the Pinot Noir. Towards the end of fermentation the temperature is raised to aid the extraction of colour and tannin from the grapes and give some body to the wine and so provide it with structural balance on the palate. The wine is aged for 14 to 16 months in oak (30 35% new) from the Allier, Vosges, and Troncais forests. This imparts some sweet spice to the wine as well as some herb characteristics and some smoky and toasty notes as well. The palate shows attractive cherry and gingerbread characteristics, underscored by smoky notes from barrel ageing.

Domaine Rollin
From vineyards that share the same Corton hillsides as many Grand Cru, this Pernand-Vergelesses epitomizes the great value still to be had from village-level Burgundy. The wine begins with aromas of high-toned cherry blossoms and raspberry preserves offset by hues of forest floor. The palate features a balance of savory red fruit, wild herbs, and tannins integrated with a vibrant and persistent acidity. Bottled unfiltered.

Domaine Belleville
Domaine Belleville was created in Rully by the Dumont family at the beginning of the 20th century, and now has 28 hectares spread out from North to South Burgundy. Impressive winery equipment ensures only the best grapes are selected for vinification and the wines are pure and precise. The estate was purchased by two Americans (one an academic at Harvard, one in finance), and already changes are being made including a refresh of the packaging. Young winemaker Charles is highly enthusiastic about the new direction of the estate. With a terroir, plot focused portfolio, Belleville is creating wines of great concentration at great prices.Charles asserts that the move to organic practice has resulted in higher natural acidity in the wines. Generous. Baked lemon, peach, melon. Slightly smoky, with high acidity, fat mid palate (25% new oak), and a tropical finish. Very good

Chateau Des Tours
Produced exclusively from Gamay grapes harvested from vines around 45 years old, and the vineyards are situated in a natural amphitheatre around the Château. It's matured in large oak vats before bottling, and the fruity, floral wine is an excellent pairing with cheese. The grapes are hand picked, sorted and de-stemmed before being put into temperature controlled stainless steel vats for a long (2-3 week) maceration period during which the chapeau de marc -the cap of the grape skins- is regularly pushed down into the juice (pigeage), to enhance the aromatics, colour and body of the finished wine. After pneumatic pressing, the malolactic fermentation takes place gently and slowly throughout the winter after which the wine is bottled in the spring. The wines are always aged for several months at the chateau before release.

J.C. Bessin
This is from just over 1.5 hectares planted in the late 1960s and early 70s. Bessins Forêt vines arent far from his Montmains but the wine displays a very different character. Theres some smoky reduction on the nose, with restrained salinity and some delicate citrus fruits underneath. Intense and pure, this is a picture of restraint.
