Torabhaig
Behind the Torabhaig distillery is the Sound of Sleat. A narrow, powerful strip of sea dividing Skye and the mainland. Called Linne Shlèite in Gaelic. And what we’ve called the fourth chapter of the series. Sound of Sleat is the fourth release in the Torabhaig Legacy Series, documenting the evolution of our signature style of 'Smoke with Taste'. This expression is crafted from a blend of Concerto and Laureate malted barley, peated to 78PPM+, and fermented with 100% Pinnacle MG yeast over a 72-hour period. It is matured exclusively in first-fill American Oak (Quercus Alba) casks and bottled at 46% without chill-filtration or colouring. The result is a deeply expressive single malt, offering delicate notes of orange, apricot, and sweet maritime seaweed on the nose, a rich palate of bonfire smoke, honey, and sea salt, and a lingering, elegant finish that captures the spirit of storms, sunsets, and the wild Sound of Sleat.

Domaine Alain Gras
Packed full of wild strawberry fruit with hints of raspberry, the palate adds a touch of spice to the sweet fruit and even a touch of coffee. This is a lovely approachable wine. Alain Gras is the reference point for St-Romain. This extremely steep village was considered part of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune until 1947. The vineyards are set back from the main Côte and mostly at higher elevation and have unquestionably improved in quality by the changes in climate and no longer struggle to reach full physiological maturity. The domaine covers 12 hectares with 8ha being planted with Chardonnay and 4ha to Pinot Noir. There are 42 separate parcels but Alain prefers to blend the grapes into one cuvée.

Fonseca
In the mouth the rich, delicious fruitiness of this wine combines with grainy, beautifully integrated tannins to produce an unbridled eruption of texture and flavor. Similarly to the Fonseca Vintage Ports and the Guimaraens Vintage Ports, blended from the wines of its three estates, the company also offers rich, velvety Single Quinta Vintage Ports produced entirely from the produce of Quinta do Panascal. These are the pure expression of the estate's terroir. Like the Guimaraens Vintage Ports, these are made in years that produce smoother, more accessible wines that do not need to be stored for a long time before being enjoyed. Situated on the steep right bank of the river Távora, Quinta do Panascal is one of the most renowned vineyards in the Douro region. In the words of a saying, "From Roncão and Panascal come the best wines of Portugal".

Domaine Gayda
Pale colour with aromas of strawberries and cream. Summer fruits, fresh lively style with crisp acidity, creaminess and a well balanced finish. The Flying Solo range flies in the face of convention, shunning international varieties in favour of the typical Mediterranean Grenache grape which forms its backbone, blended Cinsault. It celebrates the intrepid ‘Aéropostale’ pilots who risked life and limb to ensure postal deliveries in the 1920s

Baccolo
New wine laws from the 2020 vintage prohibit the use of the Appassimento (partial drying) technique for white grapes from Veneto, so sourcing of the Garganega for this lovely wine has moved to Puglia. The blend of Garganega & Sauvignon remains the same, with Sauvignon Blanc still coming from Veneto. Partial maceration with dried grapes and cold fermentation enhances fruitiness and elegant aromatic notes. The change has resulted in even better wine, that's perfect as an aperitif, with delicate first courses or white meats and fish. Vegan.

Dow's
The grapes used in the production of Dow’s Fine Ruby were a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties from the Douro Valley, such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão. Dow’s Fine Ruby was aged in seasoned oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for an average of 3 years, and bottled when ready to drink. Exuberant youthful fruit flavours make it perfect for informal drinking. Dow’s is owned and managed by the fourth generation of the Symington family, Port producers since the 19th Century. The family, whose experience dates back over 100 years, supervises all the vineyards, winemaking and ageing of this wine. Dow’s owns two of the Douro’s finest Quintas, Senhora da Ribeira and Bomfim. They were acquired in 1890 and 1896, making Dow’s one of the first houses to invest in premium vineyards.

Gilles Remoriquet
Gilles Remoriquet is not a winemaker who rests on his laurels. He is forever looking for ways to improve his wines. Most recently he has been to the Jura to see a specialist about selecting the right blend of manure and has bought a second sorting table which eliminates under-ripe berries by flotation! Cuvaisons are long, giving a light colour yet concentrated, intense fruit flavours. Remoriquet is one of the top estates in Nuits but the prices have yet to catch up. At the top of the range the Vosne-Romannée 1er Cru au dessous des Malconsorts is situated next to La Tâche and tastes like it is!

Domaine Alain Gras
Perhaps the best known vineyard in the Saint Romain appellation, this shows a little oak on the nose with very good concentration and flashes of citrus. El Porvenir
Intense ruby colour with red berry fruit on the nose, along with spicy notes and hints of figs, menthol and eucalyptyus. These lifted flavours continue to the palate and are backed up by smooth integrated tannins and fresh acidity to crteate a long finish. El Porvenir specialise in Torrontes, Malbec, Tannat and red blends from 45-50 year old vineyards which are amongst the highest in the world at 1900m asl and peopled with 20-foot, 200 year old monster cacti. Colour in the reds here is profound due to the exposure to prolonged mountain sunlight, with soft tannins due in part to the extreme diurnal temperature differences. Winemaker Mariano Quiroga Adamo is one of Argentina’s brightest young winemakers and El Porvenir benefits from the sage involvement of renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs, who has been involved here for many years. The company is run by the energetic Lucia Romero-Marcuzzi and the packaging and labels reflect the Inca Cross which is a common symbol in this part of the Andes.

Hacienda Lopez De Haro
95/100 Decanter "Another wonderful example of aged white Rioja with an inherent creaminess, volume and immediate appeal. It has the potential to age further but is absolutely ready to drink now. In a blend of Viura and Malvasía with 10% Garnacha Blanca, the oak - aged for three years in oak barriques sourced from France and Eastern Europe, one third each new, second-use and third-use - supports the wine perfectly with a fresh grainy texture and the lemon backbone is persistent and somewhat refreshing."

Here’s something you don’t come across everyday…a Nebbiolo/Cabernet blend that is fermented and aged in concrete egg. The choice of fermentation vessel aids circulation during teh ferment which imparts depth, volume and texture to the resultant wine. This fabulous wine not only has a cool, egg-shaped label, but drinks beautifully, showing bright acidity and a lovely balance between sweet blackcurrant fruit and something altogether more savoury and herbal. The finish is clean and multi-layered. It has a purity of fruit that allows the drinker to experience the flavours of BNebbiolo without the normal oak influence tasted in Piemontese versions.

Chateau Tronquoy
The wines of Château Tronquoy-Lalande know how to seduce from their youth and gain in elegance after several years in cellar. In their blends we find the particularity of the estate's grape varieties, atypical for a Saint-Estèphe wine, dominated by Merlot, which fruit combines with the power of the Cabernet Sauvignon. The hint of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc adds freshness, finesse and aromatic complexity.

Although it is impossible to reproduce them, they all have one thing in common: each of them bears witness to the extraordinary character of Grande Champagne and to the savoir-faire of the Cognac region perfected over the centuries. A red blend composed of Trincadeira, Touriga Franca, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, and Tinta Miúda grapes, not aged in wood, but briefly aged in concrete vats. Chateau Haut Nouchet
Pessac-Leognan, just south of the city of Bordeaux, features gravel-rich soils that produce wines with excellent clarity and definition. Odyssée is a cuvée by Château Haut Nouchet, and its vines are some of the highest elevation in the appellation. The blend is about 60/40 Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot, with a splash of Petit Verdot. We found this wine impressive in its combination of intensity and restraint. The nose is dark and polished with plum and wild cherries, and notes of liquorice and spice. The mouth is inky and dark but the fruit is laid over a beautifully clean structure of fine gravely tannin. This is a classy, sleek Bordeaux with a beautifully balanced mouthfeel, that tastes a lot more expensive than it is.

Domaine Gramiller
Frédéric Julien farms 15 hectares of vineyards in Rasteau. As there is no Rasteau Blanc, the appellation is not so relevant for white wines so this is declassified to Vin de France to allow maximum expression. 50 % bourboulenc, 50 % Clairette. Vinfiied separately partly in oak and partly in tank. After 7 months the wine is blended. This has good fruit but better acidity, making it nervy and racy. Brilliant wine.

Bodega Tapiz
Clear salmon pink, pink hue, delicate rose, with mineral character, red ripe fruit, strawberry. Refreshing and balanced acidity. A nice elegant Rosé. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately brought to our winery, located just a few miles away from our vineyard. To ensure the best quality, they undergo a double manual selection to separate out the best grapes. The selected grapes immediately enter our special pneumatic press, whose nitrogen blanketing system ensures greater aromatic intensity. Each harvest is fermented in separate tanks, then blended together for the perfect balance and further aging on the lees for extra body. Using proprietary techniques, we are able to gently reduce the wine’s alcohol to 10% while maintaining 100% of the wine’s natural taste. This resulted in an 85 calorie per 5 oz. serving Rosé. The wine is naturally dry with zero sugar, yet imparts the perception of sweetness from the juicy red fruit flavours combined with an elegant minerality. The wine is then cold-stabilized for one week.
