(The long macerations actually help to make the wine more approachable in youth. After extraction, the tannins begin to elongate. The result is something very age worthy that is still approachable now). Then aged for 18 months in French and Austrian oak barrels. Extremely fine and elegant. The 2021 also celebrates 30 years since the arrival of Sean in Tuscany. Vinous: The 2021 Uno (Sangiovese) is a gorgeous, super-classic red from Sean O'Callaghan. Readers will have to be patient with the 2021, as it is a driving, structured wine, its mid-weight structure notwithstanding. The Uno is a fine example of a style and approach very much inspired by the wines of Burgundy. Drink now-2036. 95 points Jancis Robinson MW: Full, juicy and grippy. Not ready but should turn into something distinctive and special. Drink 2027-2040. 17.5+ points The Wine Advocate: The 2021 Uno shows a medium-dark garnet appearance with pretty colour saturation. This is 100% Sangiovese with fruit sourced from the village of Radda. There is a slightly wild side to the bouquet with fresh iris, pressed rose and cassis. Uno does a great job of bringing out both the delicate fruit tones and the floral side of the grape. Its texture is silky, long and polished. Drink now-2036. 94 points

This Muscat wine has had the alcohol removed. Pale yellow, very clean and grapey aromas. Fresh and bright on the palate.

70 % Sangiovese, 30% Syrah, is amongst the very best in the Languedoc. Intense color, pretty aromas of white flowers. With a nice roundness with a touch of juicy residual sugar that really works in this 20th harvest celebration wine. So much sheer joy and fun here. Emotional stuff.

The Domaine Dujac's Vosne-Romanée premier cru comes from one of the appellation's best known climats, Aux Malconsorts. The bouquet is expressive, complex and fresh, with aromas of red and black berries, spices and violet. In the mouth, the wine is delicate and smooth, the fruit is prominent but not overbearing, the tannins are silky and the overall balance perfect. The very persistent finish is remarkably pure and elegant. This great wine really requires fairly long cellaring before it can express its full complexity.

Attractive cassis nose with powerful, concentrated fruit aromas. Fresh, rich, firm and full of fruit including, dark berries and chocolate. A wine with good body, structure and length. Single Quinta wines need decanting as they are usually a decade old, and will throw a sediment as they age. Walnuts are an excellent accompaniment to Vintage Port, along with rich flavoured cheeses such as Silton and dried fruits.

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. Attractive, complex fruit nose. Black fruits and some toasty oak, cocoa. Ripe and juicy flashy, plump, well built but not OTT. Chocolate oak nose. Dark deep purple in colour. Underlying earthy cocoa initial taste that builds to plum. Well balanced, not too dry considering its strength. Good longevity with the slightest touch of pepper

Aromas of flaky pastry and apricot, then powerful on the palate, with rich, unctuous baked apricot fruit. There's good, deep-set acidity within and it finishes dry with a luxurious spread across the palate. Classic white Châteauneuf that has sufficient interest and flavour even without any oak. Drink young. Fermented then aged in stainless steel.

A delightful, stylish blend of Clairette Blanche, Grenache Blanc and Picpoul. This wine has a bright straw yellow colour. On the nose, it reveals subtle aromas of citrus, melon, peach, with delicate notes of infused white flowers. The palate is rich and deep, both smooth and juicy, offering a beautiful balance and a cool, mineral and persistent finish. Lovely stuff.

Another perennial favourite, this is an old vine Syrah-dominated cuvee that comes from vines around the village of Roaix, which is northeast of Gigondas. Its vibrant ruby color is followed by terrific notes of blueberries, blackberries, pepper and resinous herbs, and it has a kiss of vanilla that will be completely integrated by the time this sees the inside of a bottle. This is a medium to full-bodied, ultra-pure beauty.

Le Finage, which means territory, is the name given to this wine from different Marsannay plots. The vines grow on several clay-limestone soils, producing a fully rounded wine, in which you will find energetic tannins, fruity aromas (raspberry), and spices. Consistency and freshness mark the finish of this perfect ambassador for the appellation. We recommend drinking this wine during its dynamic first 5 years, but it can be kept for longer. It may be necessary to decant certain vintages in their first few years. Depending on the vintage, we use 50% whole-bunch fermentation. The wine is aged for about 12 months in barrels (with 15% of new barrels) and 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

Glorious old vine Mourvedre from the wonderful Yves Falmet (who is as vegan as his wines). Yves has a single, steep vineyard of old vine varieties planted in southern Saint-Chinian. A lovely ripe and tropical nose with apricots and ginger, allspice, cashews and toast coming through. The medium-bodied palate displays lovely harmony and has honeysuckle coming through with some minerality and a fresh citrus lift in the finish. Named in honour of the ancient vilafonté soils that make up the estate at 1.5m years old, one of the oldest documented soil types in the world where the vines for this wine have been growing for almost two decades. A Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Just 330 barrels produced of this stunning wine. Layers of fresh plum, black cherry, baking spice and vanilla pod. Lovely mineral notes with a lingering finish. A line of acidity giving real tension to the whole wine.

Strawberries and blackberries aromas slowly rise out of the glass. Overtime, more of the anise and clove will mix with these other aromas. Currently, the wine is young with mouth filling intensity and suppleness. Complexity will increase as the wine ages, but this wine should stay "fresh" for 6 or 7 years. In its youth, match this wine with lamb or dried meats. After a few years, as the flavors coalesce, it will pair better with salmon or mild red sauce with pasta.

Winemaker Vincent Chansault is particularly happy with this release of Gayda's top, single vineyard Syrah from a beautiful site high up in La Liviniere. Extrememly limited. One for Cote-Rotie lovers. The 'Dream House' in question was built by the owner in the vineyards for his ailing wife to spend her last days. She miraculously recovered and her story inspired Vincent to make his dream wine from Syrah in La Liviniere.
