It boasts opulent, rich qualities and focused minerality that mirror what we love in the wines of the appellation.The vineyards of 35 to 60-year-old vines lie just outside the AOC border of Meursault, which dramatically lowers the price while allowing for one of the greatest White Burgundy values we have. This wine is ready to drink now and doesn’t need aging. Zesty, bitter citrus, lemon, and grapefruit characters, with a biscuity, yeasty character all held together by a spicy acidity, and a lean mineral salinity. Serious integration, sheer quality.

A very special wine. Winemaker Vincent comes from the Loire Valley so knows about Chenin from there and time making wine in South Africa. Chenin originated in the Languedoc so bringing it back is exciting. The wine is fermented in egg shaped concrete fermenting tanks, which allows better movement of liquid during and after fermentation than in stainless steel. Some barrel ageing too for texture. Well balanced with a purity of fruit enhanced by its roundness and length.. Highly recommended.

Old vine Garnacha and Carinena planted as long ago as 1930. Concentrated, dense and pure black fruit in the palate. This Montsant has character. It is lively and fresh. Lots of quality aromas such as pencil lead, graphite and charcoal. The concentration does not compete with the gentle and expressive fruit. Acústic Negre is the flagship wine of Acústic Celler, founded by winemaker Albert Jané. The estate's philosophy is to produce "acoustic" wines-authentic expressions of old-vine, indigenous varieties with minimal intervention. The 2022 vintage is crafted from old-vine Garnatxa (Grenache) and Carinyena (Carignan) sourced from 35-65-year-old vineyards on poor, stony soils at 300-700 metres above sea level. The wine is aged for 10 months in fine-grained French oak barrels, adding complexity while preserving fruit purity.

The nose reminds of the aromas in the vineyard during flowering. It expresses delicate flowers, some fruits, never overpowering, just like a very delicate perfume. The palate follows perfectly with a delicate structure, almost aerial and lingers on for a long time. Dry finish with the classic varietal tannic structure but also a certain roundness induced by the fruity flavour of the wine. The mouth feels like soft velvet and is already so easy to enjoy. This wine will go with seafood, salads, crab, fish dishes.

Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs is a pale, crystalline gold colour. The nose is characterised by aromas of mature Chardonnay; white peach, candied citrus with notes of lime, honeysuckle and fresh hazelnuts giving way to subtle hints of tangerine and lemon. On the palate, the Blanc de Blancs bears all the hallmarks of a Charles Heidsieck Champagne: boldness, generosity and elegance. Jermann own a combined 170 hectares of prime vineyards at their two estates in Collio and Isonzo. From Austria’s Burgenland to Biljana in Slovenia, the Jermann family’s journey would see Anton Jermann lead them over the border to Farra d’Isonzo, in Italy’s pretty, hilly, nearby Friuli in 1881. Today, this is where the winery still resides. Leaning on Anton’s legacy, Silvio Jermann, Anton Jermann’s great grandson, has since turned the Jermann name into a reference point, not only for the region, but for Italy as a whole.

Made from Tinto Fino (the grape that established the region’s fame, also called Tinta del Pais, a local variant of Rioja’s Tempranillo) and a tiny small percentage of Grenache, mostly older vines from 630 plots from 21 different villages. Made at seven different cellers using two selection tables and their own tanks. Vinification takes place in traditional concrete tanks and has aged during 18 months in a mix of second and third year oak barrels used for the Pingus and also in large Foudres, avoiding voluntarily the use of new wood.

Our wonderful own-label cuvee from Escaravailles. Full-bodied, fruity Grenache-Syrah blend made using fruit mostly grown in their excellent vineyards in Rasteau. This is ample and spicy with some deliciously ripe and juicy fruit, but cooler and redder this time, in line with the vintage. As always, really charming stuff.

This is a richer, full bodied and more complex white wine with minerality and almonds. Tbh this wine is so special that it’s difficult to describe. Although it’s a heavier white, it can also taste light and even sometimes a little floral. It’s contradictory. And that’s why I love it. Serve it only lightly chilled. This is a heavier white so it can take on some heavier white meat dishes. But as Piemonte is the home of Risotto, we think a really simple cheese, pumpkin or saffron risotto is a great pairin Timorasso is one of Italy’s rarest grapes. It’s only grown in a tiny area by a few winegrowers. It’s spectacular, though. The Italians call it the ‘White Barolo’ and you know how obsessed everyone is with Barolos.

The label used for the 2023 vintage refers to the dictum of Pliny the Elder, a Roman philosopher of the first century: ex Africa semper aliquid novi (“something new always comes out of Africa”). So Aliquid Novi (’something new’) quite naturally presented itself as very fitting description of the wine. Nobody's been bottling Pinotage longer than Lanzerac and this wine shows a wealth of experience with this proudly South African variety. With 5 to 10 years' maturation this wine will start to acquire the velvet density and luxurious chocolate and caramel flavours of its very early Lanzerac predecessors. A full-bodied, complex wine with a beautiful balance between fruit and wood showcasing a good tannin structure that will allow it to age extremely well.

Alain Geoffroy's estate produces this old vine premier cru from the Vau Ligneau vineyard in the cooler far west of Chablis, accepted as one of the region's best examples of this vineyard. The vines are on Kimmeridgian soils, rich in minerals and oyster fossils. Crunchy green apple on the palate. Plenty of acidity to keep the palate fresh with a stony character on the finish. Appealing and ready now, perhaps best to drink this over the next two to three years. Geoffroy recommends pairing the wine with cooked oysters, fine poultry, veal escalope or cheese.

Fine and very expressive, there are citrus and white flowers, on the nose, with vanilla from some nice oak. On the palate, there is complexity, ripe fruit and a pleasant freshness. It is a very aromatic wine with notes of citrus fruits. The whole wine is well balanced between body, freshness and oak. The Château Bonnet Réserve comes from a selection of a few hectares, among the 120 of the estate's vineyard, producing white wines in sustainable viticulture. The grape varieties selected are Sauvignon and Sémillon.

This winery makes Noble One - the top Oz sweetie for many years - so it’s no surprise that this cheeky half massively over-delivers on quality, winning many trophies for best value dessert wine. Loads of juicy tropical fruit.

Pithy lemon and white peach combined with vanilla pod and butterscotch. The palate has a fleshy texture, flavours of ripe apricot crumble, a hint of cinnamon. Leading to a toasty finish, underpinned by subtle woodsmoke and fresh acidity. Whole-bunch pressed and only the ‘heart’ of the free run used, the juice was then fermented in new French oak barrels. Following fermentation the wine was matured in barrel for 18 months, with around 50% seeing weekly bâtonnage. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered in March 2024. Made from some of the best Chardonnay fruit we’ve ever seen, picked in 2022 by hand from Martin’s Lane in the Crouch Valley, Essex. It was a hot, dry year, so yields were low, but ripeness was exceptional.

Deep purple, almost opaque in colour with an expressive nose of black fruits, pepper, cinnamon, spice and violets. A seductive palate of dark hedgerow fruits, very open and welcoming with an explosion of fruit and spice. Mineral undertones.

Ch La Fleur Lauga is a special cuvée made by Ch de Lauga, an Haut-Médoc Artisanal property. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, pretty and rather earthy red berry fruit with a tart, peppery finish. This is easy-drinking but well made Saint Julien.

Light gold hue and a fine, delicate mousse. Aromas of lemon sherbet and honeysuckle lead into fresh pastry and vanilla characters. The palate is rounded and soft, offering generous yet elegant notes of green apple, lemon zest, orange blossom, and chamomile, with a touch of baked hazelnut. A subtle minerality accentuates the fresh, crisp acidity, leading to a long and complex finish.

A quite thrilling and utterly extraordinary Nebbiolo d'Alba from the brilliant Enrico Rivetto. The Nebbiolo vines grow on the Lirano hill at Sinio at an altitude 400m with exposure to the west on clay-limestone soils - on the border of Barolo. The grapes are manually harvested late September, destalked and fermented naturally in Amphora with its wild, indigenous yeasts. The wine macerates in these terracotta containers for a very long time. The wine has great energy and tension, it is extraordinarily elegant and wonderfully complex too. A neo-classical marvel of a wine. Enrico has dedicated this wine to the hill where he lives and grows. It's an absolutely extraordinary offering that regularly gets scored in the mid-to high nineties in the American journals, if that's your thing: 94/100 in Wine Enthusiast for the 2021, 96/100 WE and 96/100 in Wine Spectator for the 2019, 95/100 in WE for the 2017 etc, etc. "Lustrous mid ruby. Wow what a treat, this is everything you ever wanted in a Tuscan red. Dense tarry core, silky and svelte, evolved and a tad tawny. All the markers of greatness are in place: autumn forest, leaf tea, cigar box, woodsmoke, all perked up with citrus and Christmas spice. Has such a sense of grandeur, so assured, so very, very Tuscan.

Slight copper hue, spicy, ripe fruit, crème brulée, full-flavoured but delicate & charming. Fine persistent mousse. Totally enjoyable and quite typical of the black-grape dominated Montagne de Reims style.

Deep in colour, Pol Roger's Vintage Rosé displays outstanding aromatic complexity. The Pinot Noir proportion, especially the 18% vinified as red wine, really makes itself known here, with a panoply of dark red fruit notes - think cherry and ripe plum. It is focused yet simultaneously textural, very much in the Pol Roger house style. Charming now, but with the legs to age for many years to come. 8g/l dosage, five years on lees.
