Compass Box
As part of its 20th anniversary, Compass Box has released this limited edition cask strength bottling of its Peat Monster as a nod to the USA-rooted origin story of the core expression. Peat Monster came about after Compass Box created a whisky for Park Avenue Liquor Shop in New York, which became a hit, and so Peat Monster was born. This expression of the blended malt Scotch sees some of the whisky that makes up the blend finished in virgin American oak barrels, for some extra vanilla and spice.

Lochlea
Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 1 is the first in a series of annual limited-edition bottlings. Each batch will be bottled straight from the casks without water, like trying samples from the warehouse itself! Master Blender John Campbell and the team at Lochlea have chosen Bourbon and Sherry casks this time, and every year will show further progression of our whisky. Despite the very limited volume available in each country, the few who manage to secure a bottle will experience a true undiluted and unfiltered window into Lochlea whisky.

Cu Bocan
Matured fully in Oloroso Sherry casks for a minimum of 15 years, Cù Bòcan 15 Year Old is a decadent single malt with sun dried fruits and smoky exotic spices. The Oloroso Sherry casks impart flavours of dried fruits, flamed orange peel, cinder toffee, black cherry and cardamom. The peat provides a traditional earthy dryness rather than an obvious smoke, this has helped keep some of the sweeter elements of the sherry casks perfectly balanced.

Cambridge Distillery
Anty gin, which is literally made with ants as a botanical, started as an idea from the Nordic Food Lab - an organisation run by Noma's Rene Redzepi and gastro-preneur Claus Meyer - and was brought to life by the Cambridge Distillery. This Anglo-Danish vegan nightmare contains the essence of precisely 62 ants, which add a citrus flavour to the gin and are used instead of the more traditional orange or lemon peel. Although Anty gin is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the world's first gin made from ants, it is not the first time that ants have ever been distilled – centuries ago they were distilled to create formic acid, which is useful as a preservative and antibacterial agent.

Nusbaumer
A Mirabelle plum eau-de-vie from Nusbaumer, made with young plums to create a more arresting flavour. These plums are grown in the regions of Lorraine, Alsace and Franche Comté. Nusbaumer are an independent, family-owned artisanal distillery in heart of the Alsace. Founded by Jos Nusbaumer in 1947, the distillery is located in Stiege, a small town in the Vosge valleys, to the south-west of Strasbourg. There are several factors that make Stiege an ideal place to distil fruit spirits; there’s exceptional mountain spring water, high altitude allowing lower distillation pressure leading to richer aromas, and a microclimate with significant temperature variations that has a positive impact on fermentation, maceration and ageing.
